A dearth of controversy
It’s been some time since I had anything to write about regarding the Red Sox. That’s the price we pay for a seemingly successful and expert off season. The Red Sox entered spring training with only a few question marks, mostly revolving around the injury rehabilitation of key players like Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Kevin Youkilis and Adrian Gonzalez. The other question was whether or not the bottom half of the rotation could earn its substantial salary. That remains to be seen, but so far the indications are positive (with the exception of Dice-K, who may not finish the season in the Sox rotation).
So what is there to talk about? Whether or not Mike Cameron might be traded? How Jarrad Saltalawhosis is developing behind the plate. Ho hum. The only way we’ll get answers is for the season to get under way. So, unless something comes up, this will probably be my only posting of the exhibition season.
